Johor Bahru – Forest City, a visionary urban project known for its green and sustainable living spaces, is set to undergo a major transformation. GG56 Korea Ltd, a prominent Korean investment firm, has announced an investment of US$1 billion (approximately RM4.37 billion) to develop Malaysia's first-ever Korean Culture (K-Culture) Town within Forest City. This ambitious project aims to establish Forest City as a global destination for culture, innovation, and sustainable living.

The investment marks a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Forest City, which has already been recognized for its modern integration of residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. The K-Culture Town will further enhance the city's reputation by adding a vibrant cultural dimension that celebrates Korean culture and its global influence.

The K-Culture Town will be a comprehensive development featuring K-content production studios, an international cultural district, and world-class residential areas. This initiative is expected to attract both local and international interest, positioning Forest City as a key cultural hub in Southeast Asia. The development will cater to the growing global demand for Korean culture, which includes K-pop, K-dramas, and Korean cuisine.

The memorandum of agreement (MoA) for this project was signed by CGPV executive director Othman Yusof and GG56 Korea CEO and co-founder Kim Young Kun. The agreement not only represents a formal partnership but also symbolizes a shared vision between the two companies to create a city that embodies innovation, culture, and sustainability.

Othman Yusof expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating,

"This MoA is not just a formal agreement; it reflects our shared vision for Forest City. We are thrilled to collaborate with GG56 Korea to bring these transformative projects to life. Together, we will build a city that stands as a testament to innovation, culture, and sustainable development."

Kim Young Kun echoed this sentiment, highlighting the unique opportunity to create something extraordinary in Forest City.

"Through our collaboration with CGPV, we aim to contribute to the city’s growth and establish it as a leading global destination," he said.

Forest City has long been envisioned as a smart, green, and sustainable urban environment. The addition of the K-Culture Town aligns perfectly with this vision, integrating cultural and technological advancements into the city's fabric. The development is expected to attract a diverse community of residents, businesses, and tourists, further solidifying Forest City's status as a leading example of modern urban planning.

GG56 Korea, known for its high-impact projects in healthcare, entertainment, technology, and real estate, sees this investment as a strategic move to enhance its global portfolio while contributing to Malaysia's cultural landscape. The company's focus on sustainable development and innovation aligns well with Forest City's goals, making this partnership a perfect fit.

As the project progresses, all eyes will be on Forest City as it evolves into a vibrant cultural hub that bridges the gap between tradition and modernity. The K-Culture Town is poised to become a must-visit destination, not just for fans of Korean culture but for anyone interested in experiencing a dynamic and forward-thinking urban environment.
